The New Parliament of Canton Vaud

The reconstruction of the Parliament is situated in the old town of Lausanne. The aim of the project is to be a synthesis between old and new, past and future, using traditional construction alongside new technologies. The use of contemporary techniques establishes a formal and functional dialogue with the old buildings, preserving their identity. In the urban and landscape perspective of the historical site, the new Parliament is the last piece in the puzzle. Its location halfway between the castle and the cathedral strikes a balance between military and religious institutions.
