The new Fire and Rescue Station I is envisioned as an open, accessible civic landmark that seamlessly integrates into the urban fabric. Situated between the large scale Bonnorange complex and the smaller residential blocks to the west, the building establishes a cohesive street frontage while skillfully mediating between contrasting urban scales. Its composition consists of four elongated volumes arranged in a linear sequence, providing a clear structural order that responds sensitively to the surrounding heterogeneous context. A gradual decrease in height from south to north allows the complex to assert a strong street presence while maintaining a considerate relationship with the adjacent housing. At ground level, a series of operational pavilions accommodate vehicle halls, workshops, and logistical areas, ensuring efficient emergency flow and clear traffic separation. The upper floors connect these volumes, hosting administrative and communal spaces that foster internal communication and collaboration. The design emphasizes transparency, order, and functionality, with facades articulated in exposed concrete and generous glazing that express the building’s civic openness and public role. Through its rational layout, dignified urban presence, and restrained architectural language, the project merges operational efficiency with strong civic identity, forming a contemporary infrastructure building that harmoniously integrates with its urban surroundings.
