Gran Teatre del Liceu Opera House

The reconstruction and extension of the Liceu was a singular project with the difficult challenge of balancing the needs and potentials of a modern opera house. There were three main aspects to this project: The construction of a new modern opera stage with a cross shaped floor plan, all the necesary services, dressing rooms, rehearsal spaces and offices; a reconstruction that respected the great hall that was destroyed in 1994, and the adaptation and restoration of the historic foyer.
