Can Framis Museum

The museum houses the private collection of Catalan painting of the Vila Casas Foundation in the newly developed 22@ district. The museum occupies Poblenou’s first factory, now rehabilitated, Can Framis. The design strategy consists of constructing a new, bare concrete building that joins the two existing ones and, together with a great porch, forms a courtyard leading to the museum as a setting for artistic and community activities. The treatment of the existing façades showcases the mixed nature of the construction and presents the signs of passing time that contrast with the new technological setting.
