C Building. ETSEIB. UPC
The new building houses laboratories, workshops and offices for various university departments, and the new nanoengineering research centre. The building forms part of the Barcelona School of Industrial Engineering (ETSEIB). It marks the end of a succession of small pavilions, all with a brick plinth course. The project reinforces this concept with a new lightweight volume and a façade of aluminium and glass panels that adapt to the different requirements of the brief. A lightweight service walkway with brise-soleil panels provides sunlight control, facilitates window-cleaning and gives the building unity.
