School in Bernau

The new school in Bernau bei Berlin pursues the goals of a structural new order and its relation with the old town inner ring by keeping on-site existing conditions and qualities. Liveliness and flexibility play a decisive role in opening the school to the outside with free, organic shapes that open up unexpectedly visual relationships and ensure careful orienting movemnet in all directions. The design, dividing the building into three volumes, projects a ground floor with a foyer and usuable events areas, while the different volumes holds the different grades and its individivually designed loungue and relation areas.
