School in Rhenaniastraße

The Gymnasium is an important building inside the new urban district of Wasserstadt-Oberhavel, therefore, it has not only an educational purpose, it challenges the formal and sustentable development of the area. The design of the building starts from an optimized and compact programme distribution, using prefabricated wood as main material answering both, design and ecological issues. Groundfloor level include the public and community spaces such as educational areas with cafeteria, a multifunctional area, music rooms, administration space and sport areas. On the upper floors the specification of the users grow with private rooms for students, library and common classrooms.
